Are We Angels or Ashes?: An Answer In A Prayer

Are we "a little lower than the angels" or "dust and ashes"? We will examine how the traditional "Ribbon Kol Haolamim" prayer helps us answer this fundamental human question and live a balanced life. The prayer provides a paradigm for self-transformation and highlights the basic goal of traditional prayer: reaching beyond ourselves.

He is the vice-president of the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis, the chair of the Rabbinical Assemblys Commission on Keruv, Conversion & Jewish Peoplehood. His articles have appeared in various periodicals.
