Why Should We Care About the Dead Sea Scrolls?

In anticipation of the upcoming Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at the Museum of Science, we will look at the history of the discovery of the scrolls and especially at their importance for understanding the Bible, Judaism, and early Christianity.

Marc Brettler

Marc Brettler, the Dora Golding Professor of Biblical Studies and former chair of the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University, teaches in various adult Jewish education settings. In addition to his books, he has written for The Forward, was heard on NPR's "All Things Considered," and "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross.
